Etna Rosso DOC 2018

Tasting Note:

The vineyards are located between 600 to 700 m a.s.l. on the North-East slopes of the Etna volcano. On Etna soils are sandy and very rich in iron and nitrogen left by previous volcanic eruption. The color is ruby red with a refreshing palate of red fruits and smooth tannins, the final is mineral and long.

"Quota 1000" Contrada Barbabecchi IGP 2014

Tasting Note:

The hundred year’s old vines on pie Franco (pre-phylloxera vines) are located above 1000m altitude, “Quota 1000” in Italian. This is one of the highest vineyards in the world. At this altitude, according to the Etna DOC appellation, the wine cannot be included in the DOC and needs to be labelled IGP. The harvest is generally the first week of November and the wine is aged for 24 months in big oak Botti and further 12 months in bottle.
