Certainly the most renowned masterpiece of Italian wines, its classic and recognizable label speaks of its legenedary status - Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Bolgheri! Coming from Bolgheri of Tuscany, the birth of Sassicaia led a new wave of 'Super Tuscan', attracting numerous wineries, wine critics and winelovers to this tiny coastal village. Sassicaia, directly translated as stony field, is what made the winery owner Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta believing to rival Graves area of Bordeaux, France, and so he planted Bordeaux's famous grape variety - Cabernet Sauvignon!
